First time visiting. Got the special of the day with 4 legs baked beans and Mac and cheese. Chicken was cooked perfectly crispy outside and very flavorful. Will definitely be back. Our server Vanessa was wonderful even being the only server was on top of it and never let our drinks get even half empty and was very polite and professional.
I’m so happy I could make it back to another Gus’s. The food at this location didn’t disappoint. Between the chicken, okra, Mac n cheese etc everything was fantastic. It was pretty busy when we went but the sweet waitress still did a great job.
Ate here for lunch with family. Chicken is outstanding... a little spicy, but balances well with ranch or a side. Sides are some of the best I've had... baked beans, mac/cheese, and okra were all excellent. Family said Cole Slaw and greens were also good. Our service by Vanessa was great. Sweet tea was outstanding. Bathrooms are clean.
So glad they opened one in Birmingham!! Was a top 5 in Memphis, and now we don't have to travel to enjoy it! Still the beat fried chicken ever! The ONLY mac and cheese I'll eat at a restaurant. Fries are A. Staff is always friendly and attentive, food is so reasonable, and atmosphere is casual. Great job, Y'all!

Our first time here and it is great! I was a little concerned about the spicy part of the chicken, but it was.very good. If you like spicy chicken, then this is the place for you! The young lady who served us was very helpful when I asked about the food. The inside of the restaurant is kind of retro, but it is a very nice place. I will be back! Nuff said....
Lord have mercy, this is the absolute BEST fried chicken I’ve ever had in my 34 years of life. I have been twice and can confirm that I just don’t think you can elevate fried chicken anymore than Gus’ has. Like if heaven had chicken, the lord himself would be draining that fryer basket himself and putting a couple pieces on your plate. It’s gotta be fried in holy water.
